Greater Community Bank is accepting bids through 5 p.m. Sept. 10 on renovation and alterations of its office at 305 Belmont Drive in Calhoun. The plan is to “stay in the existing building. Just making some renovations to it.”

The bids show a site plan of roughly 11,000 square feet with 63 parking spaces and two drive-through lines running almost parallel to Short Street.

It is the latest move by Greater Community Bank which earlier this month announced plans to open a Cartersville branch at 2 Dixie Ave. The Cartersville location will mark the fourth office for Greater Community Bank, with two also in Rome.

Here’s an  idea that should spread: Sisters Lynn Johnson and Angie Zmich have opened JZ’s Taste of Georgia on Main Street in downtown Cartersville. The concept: A tasting room with wine and craft beers made in Georgia. Also available: Georgia-made gifts and products. Opened in late July at 17 Main St., the hours are 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday; 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday; 11:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 12:30 until 6 p.m. Sunday.

Downtown Development Authority Coffee Break this Friday: Hosted by Coosa River Basin Initiative, 5 Broad St., Cotton Block, beginning at 8:30 a.m.,
