If you’re a fan of the late Harry Chapin, one of his classics — “30,000 pounds of bananas” — is going through your mind as you read this.

Floyd County Police report that a truck carrying a 70,000-pound load is disabled and blocking Ward Mountain Road at Potts Road. They also fear the load will spill when the truck is moved. At 8 p.m., the road was still blocked and there was some resulting backup on intersection Wayside Road as well.

According to a Floyd County Police tweet: “A tractor trailer truck leaving Marglen has gotten lost and is now stuck after trying to correct his direction of travel.”
