THE LATEST

At 6 p.m. More storms are moving into Northwest Georgia. No watches or warnings at this hour.

At 1:15 p.m.: 0.84 of an inch of rain in Rome this morning, 0.55 of an inch in Cartersville. We need it.

At 1:15 p.m., about a dozen customers without power in Floyd, Bartow and Polk counties total. Had been as high as 700.

At 8:30 a.m., River Ratz not floating today, citing storm conditions.

OUTLOOK

Showers and scattered thunderstorms will continue to affect portions
of north and central Georgia this morning. Locally heavy rain and
cloud to ground lightning will be the main threats.

This afternoon, additional showers and thunderstorms are expected to
redevelop across the area. Some storms could be strong to severe
with lightning, strong wind gusts, and heavy rain that could lead to
localized flash flooding, the primary threats.

Areas of fog are possible tonight as light winds interact with a wet
conditions near the surface. Visibilities may be less than 1/2 mile
at times, resulting in more difficult driving conditions.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday...

Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected to continue each
afternoon and evening through the rest of the week. A few storms
could become strong to severe with gusty winds, heavy rain, and
frequent cloud to ground lightning.

Sunday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 4pm. Areas of fog before 10am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 88. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 7pm. Areas of fog after 1am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Monday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Monday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 69. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 93.

Tuesday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 70.
