Mr. Randall Rena Womack, age 49, of Lindale, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at a local hospital.

Mr. Womack was born in Floyd County on December 8, 1969, son of the late, Scot Wilburn Womack and the late Betty Jo Redden Womack.  At the time of his death, he was an employee of Bert Brooks Tire Company.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Jane Sisson Womack; 3 daughters, Christina Johnson (Henry), Aragon, Hailey Barger and Holly Barger both of Lindale; 2 sons, Clay Barger and Camryn Womack both of Lindale; a sister, Dawn Michelle Barnes (Jeff), Silver Creek; a brother, Michael Scott Womack, Silver Creek; 4 grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2019, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.  The Rev. Bert Brooks will officiate with Mr. Womack’s daughter, Holly, giving the eulogy.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 3, 2019, from 2 p.m. until time for the service.

Mr. Sylvester Clowers, 74, of Rome, Georgia, passed away, Sunday, July 28, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.  Services are incomplete at this time but will be announced at a later date. Wright Memorial Mortuary.

Mrs. Sara Miller, 96, of Denton, Texas, formerly of LaGrange, died Thursday, July 25, 2019 in Denton following an extended illness.

The former Sara Savilla Humphreys, Mrs. Miller was born in Douglas County, Georgia November 25, 1922, daughter of the late William Capers Humphreys and the late Lillie Mae Overstreet Humphreys. Mrs. Miller was a homemaker most of her life, but after her sons were through school and married, she went back to school to become a nurse. Mrs. Miller and her husband lived in Daytona Beach, Fla., for a number of years, then in the LaGrange area until his death.

For several years after that, she lived in Springhill, Tenn., and later Denton, Texas. Mrs. Miller was married to Claude H. Miller Jr. on June 3, 1938, and was preceded in death by him June 16, 2011. She was also preceded in death by an infant brother. Survivors include her sons, Claude Miller of Denton, Texas, and Robert Miller and his wife Lois of Springhill, Tn. Ten grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Miller will be held Thursday at noon from the graveside of Roundhill Cemetery in Cave Spring with her pastor from Springhill, Rev. Mike Stalnaker, officiating. Mrs. Miller will lie in state at John House’s Cave Spring Chapel and the family will receive friends there Thursday morning prior to the service.

Mr. Virgil Delon Grissom, age 90, of Rome, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2019, at his residence.

Mr. Grissom was born in Eldridge, Alabama on October 18, 1928, son of the late Virgil Grissom and the late Zora Della Norris Rollins.  He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia Mae Grissom and Della Denise Grissom; by three sisters, Delilah Kendrick, Jo Cox and Dean Crider; and by three brothers, Bob Grissom, Earl Grissom and Charles Grissom.  Mr. Grissom was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean War.  He was a member of the Oak Hill Church of Christ.  Prior to retirement, he owned and operated Grissom Construction.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Wilkins Grissom; six daughters, Karen Vieyra, Sacramento, CA, Donna Alford, Lindale, Dean Callahan, Rome, Jenny White, Rome, Beth Hitchcock, Rome, and Melissa Guerrero, Silver Creek; three step-daughters, Cindy Boling, Winder, Cheryl Weldon, Atlanta, and Suzanne Kiefer, Sugar Hill; a sister, Evelyn Baker, Lindale; 19 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 3 step-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, with Minister Hulan Hensley officiating.  Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with the Brown-Wright Post  No. 12 Honor Guard presenting military honors.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service time.

Pallbearers are asked to assemble on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. and include: Corey Alford, Nick Guerrero, Kyler Guerrero, Patrick Boling, Matthew Kiefer, Andrew Kiefer and Tommy Grissom.
