OUTLOOK

Scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms are expected through at least Tuesday, with some decrease in chances possible over north Georgia Wednesday and Thursday. Any storms will again have the potential for strong gusty winds, frequent lightning and very heavy rain.

Saturday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 91. Heat index values as high as 100. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
