Obituaries: Mr. Wayne Diamond, Sam Pappalardo Jr., Mrs. Patricia Kirkpatrick Robinson, Mr. Terry Thompson, Mr. Edward Lynn Toles, Mary Edna Ballard Vaughn and Mrs. Stacey (Grace) Weaver

Mr. Edward Lynn Toles, age 79, of Armuchee, GA, passed away Friday evening, July 12, 2019, at his residence.

Mr. Toles was born in Floyd County, GA on September 9, 1939, son of the late Charles Ralph Toles and the late Inez McElroy Toles.  He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Alice Williams, and by 2 nephews, Phillip and Steve Williams.

Mr. Toles was a member of the first graduating class in 1959 from West Rome High School.  He was employed for 9 years with Esserman’s here in Rome and for over 13 years with Super D. in Central Plaza Shopping Center.  Prior to his retirement, he was a Manager for Arby’s at the Rome, Calhoun, and Dalton restaurants.  He was a member of Floyd Springs Baptist Church but was attending North Rome Church of God.  He was a member of the Cherokee Lodge #66 F. A. M. for over 50 years.  Mr. Toles was an avid Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Falcons, and Atlanta Braves fan.

Survivors include his wife, the former Patricia Jackson, to whom he was married on October 24, 1959; twin sons, Mark Toles (Karen), Armuchee, and Clark Toles (Ann), Lindale; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, J. Hugh Williams, Rome; a nephew, David Williams, Rome.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at 11am in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel.  The Rev. Dwaine Shadix and the Rev. Bert Brooks will officiate.  Private interment will follow later in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Monday from 5 until 7pm.

Mr. Wayne Diamond, age 53, of Cedartown, Ga. transitioned July 11, 2019. Service for Mr. Diamond will be Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 2 pm at Friendship Baptist Church in Cedartown, Ga. with Military Honors. The body will lie instate from 1 pm until the funeral hour. Interment will be Friday, July 19 at 11: 30 am at Georgia National Cemetery (burial only).

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 from 6 until 8 pm.

Sam Pappalardo Jr., age 93, passed away Friday July 12, 2019 in a Fie Living Center in Cartersville, GA.

Mr. Pappalardo was born August 11, 1926 in Floyd County to the late Sam Pappalardo, Sr. and Effie Staton. He was an avid collector of guns, knives, Indian artifacts and coins and he loved to show them to everyone. Mr. Pappalardo was a World War II veteran and a member of West Rome Baptist Church. He married his wife of 61 years in 1955. He worked in the grocery business with his family, AWFord, Piggly Wiggly and Kroger before retiring to take care of his wife. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Paralee Pappalardo, his parents, and his son Michael Sam Pappalardo.

Survivors include his daughter Susan Bennett of Cartersville GA., and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 10 A.M. on Tuesday July 16, 2019 at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at 9 A.M. on Tuesday July 16, 2019 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome GA. 30165.

Mrs. Patricia Kirkpatrick Robinson, age 61, transitioned July 12, 2019. Service for Mrs. Robinson will be Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 11 am at First Iconium Baptist Church in Atlanta, Ga. located at 542 Moreland Ave. The body will lie instate from 10 am until the funeral hour. Please keep the family lifted up in prayer.

Mr. Terry Thompson, age 54, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2019, at a local hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Services are incomplete at this time but will be announced at a later date.

Mary Edna Ballard Vaughn, age 79, of Rome passed away Friday July 12, 2019 at her residence.

Mrs. Vaughn was born on December 14, 1939 in Floyd County to the late Johnny Ballard and Gertude Allen Ballard. She was employed with Inland Paper for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Ronnie Ballard and Bobbie Ballard; two sisters: Net Black and Glenda Young.

Survivors include her husband: Jack D. Vaughn; son: Timothy E. Bailey, daughter: Kelli L. Singh; grandchildren: Bryson Bailey, Brooke Cushing, T.J. Bailey, Madison Bailey, Chris Cushing; great grandchildren: Cheyenne Grace, Kaylin Avery; sister: Freda Mitchell.

The family will have a private interment.

Mrs. Stacey (Grace) Weaver, age 71, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2019, at a local hospital surrounded by her loving family.
