Dos Bros Mexican Grill continues to prep for its opening in Rome at Carter Avenue, next door to Mathis True Value Hardware, just off Shorter Avenue. Recent building permits show Mike and Mark Mathis have been busy preparing the location with electrical and plumbing updates.
This update from the restaurant group:
“You know how things go with construction but we are around two to three months from opening. We are currently hiring for three management positions including general manager and we will be hiring around 25 to 30 crew members. Our operating hours will be 11 a.m.-9 p.m. seven days a week and closed on major holidays.”
The restaurant’s menu features ‘Fresh Mexican Grill’ dishes including burritos, nachos, tacos, quesadillas, salads and bowls. Sounds like a very similar menu to Moe’s Southwest Grill that is located across the street from the new proposed location.

Buffalo Luke’s to replace Cheeseburger Bobby’s in Calhoun? We’ve got notes into the Jasper location but it appears the parent company is advertising for a general manager and other associates at the one-time burger shop, only this time under the name Buffalo Luke’s at 273 Ga. 53 in Calhoun. The nearest Buffalo Luke’s is in Jasper. The location opened in June 2016 but closed suddenly in January. At the time, the corporate office said it would reopen under company management. Help wanted
