Passenger dies after Explorer overturns on I-75 north near Adairsville Monday evening.

From Georgia State Patrol, Post 3 in Cartersville:

A red Ford Explorer was traveling north on I-75 near mile marker 305 in the middle lane (near the Ga. 140/Adairsville exit). The rear left tire suffered a malfunction, causing the driver to lose control of her vehicle.  The vehicle traveled across the right lane of the roadway and began to overturn.  The vehicle overturned several times, ejecting the front passenger, who was not wearing a safety belt. The vehicle came to final rest facing southeast off the roadway on its top.  The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver was air lifted to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Trooper Kynard #986 is investigating the crash. The names of the occupants are unavailable and there is no further information at this time.
