Mr. Glenn G. Bowman, age 80, of Rome, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at his residence.
Mr. Bowman was born in Cherokee County, Alabama, on May 8, 1939, son of the late Melvin Cleo Bowman and the late Flonnie Mae Gunn Bowman. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Sue Fowler Bowman, and by three siblings, Melvin Cleo Bowman, Jr., Ruby McCord and Dot Barnes. Mr. Bowman was of the Baptist faith and worked for most of his life as a logger. His last job was a truck driver for Daniel Dunagan Logging. Mr. Bowman owned several dirt track racing cars and was an avid NASCAR and Atlanta Braves fan.
Survivors include three sons, Glenn Gene Bowman Jr. (Melissa), Rome, Jerry Michael Bowman (LeAnne), Rome, and Charles Richard Bowman, Leesburg, AL; 4 grandchildren, Glenn Gene Bowman, III, Taylor Lindsey Bowman Scoggins, Charles Richard Bowman, Jr., and Keri Bowman Taylor; 4 great grandchildren, Case Scoggins, Berklee Scoggins, Braydyn Helms and Brynlei Helms; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Bro. Wayne Dotson and the Rev. Greg Bridges officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.

Mr. Johnny A. Parker, age 82, of Rome, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at a local hospital.
Mr. Parker was born in Murray County, GA on July 2, 1937, son of the late William Virgil Parker and the late Jessie Cornelia Brackett Parker. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, joining at the age of 17. He married Glennice C. Corbin in 1964.
Prior to retirement, Johnny was associated with GE as a burner for 27 years. He enjoyed figuring out how things were made and was quite the skilled carpenter. To the outside world he was a quiet man of few words but he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and would tell them great stories when asked. In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Glennice Parker, Rome; a son, Jerrell Anthony Parker (Sharon), Denton, TX; two daughters, Andrea Lynn Burk (Bill), Rome, Ginger Alison Parker, Rome; four grandchildren, Will Burk, Andrew Burk (Chase), Alexa Burk, Noah Parker; two sisters, Sue Bone, Calhoun, Avie Autry (Troy), Adairsville; brother, Kenneth Parker (Paula), Calhoun; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at 1 p.m. at Armuchee Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in the Armuchee Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the church from noon until the funeral hour.
