Buzz: Some upgrades on the way for watching Berry College’s eagles. Help pick next year’s Paddle Georgia route.

Some changes for viewing the Berry College eagles as the new nesting season draws closer. This post from the administrators of the eagles’ Facebook page: As we begin to prepare for the 2019-20 eagle season, we wanted to provide a quick update with plans for the year.

  • We will be replacing the two nest cameras and plan to mount the approach cam up a bit higher on the pole.
  • The website will be transitioned over to the new look of the Berry College site.
  • The Tumblr blog account will cease and updates will be posted directly to the Berry website in addition to Facebook.
  • We will be transitioning from Livestream chat to a new chat product that allows for more robust filtering of content and moderation.

These changes are all geared at making the eagle watching experience more enjoyable for all and we will share additional information in the weeks to come. As always, your support is appreciated, and donations to the Berry Eagles account makes it easier for us to cover annual expenses associated with operating the cameras. Thank you! Help pick the route of Georgia River Network’s 16th anniversary Paddle Georgia in 2019: The organization is asking river lovers–and local visitors bureaus and tourism promoters–to weigh in on where next year’s week-long canoe/kayak journey will be held.
Paddle Georgia attracts 300-450 people to a different Georgia river destination each year. This year, the event included participants from 13 states and even locations as far flung as Peru. In addition to introducing participants to Georgia’s rivers and water trails, the event pumps tens of thousands of dollars directly into local economies–often in rural areas hungry for economic development.
GRN has set up an online survey to allow the public to vote on their favorite destination. Click here.
