Ashland Craft will be performing at Saturday’s free concert at Town Green in Rome.

 

Thursday-Sunday: Rome Braves open a four-game series with Asheville Tourists at State Mutual Stadium. Celebrate Independence Day on Thursday at 7 p.m. with post-game fireworks. Friday is Super Hero Night at 7 p.m. Tenor Timothy Miller will perform the National Anthem and God Bless America, and the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a free Rome Braves Super Hero Cape. Saturday is Military Appreciation Night at 6 p.m. with the first 1,000 fans through the gates receiving a free Rome Braves Camo Cap. Sunday is Family Fun Day at 2 p.m. with $50 Family Fun Day Package which includes 4 tickets, 4 hamburgers OR hot dogs, 4 sodas, 4 popcorns, 4 hats + free Kid Zone inflatable wristbands.

Friday: Live music at 5th of July bash at the Courtyard Rome Riverwalk. The free event will feature Kevin Allen Music, outdoor grill and cash bar on the patio as well as the fully stocked bar and Bistro menu inside.

Saturday in Summerville: Stars & Stripes at The Depot, 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. “Continue the celebration of our independence with some Americana fun. Witness the arrival of the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum Passenger Train and the turning of the majestic steam engine on the Summerville Turntable. Vendors will be on hand.Free watermelon slices will be served as long as the supply last. There will be a Fried Apple Pie Contest open to the public. Contestants will also have fried pies of all flavors for sale. Fried Apple Pie Contest registration will be located inside the depot beginning at 11 a.m. Contestants will submit one fried apple pie for judging. Judging will begin at 11:45 a.m, with announcement of winners at 12:30 p.m.

Saturday: There will be a free concert starring Ashland Craft, a Top 10 finalist on “The Voice,” at the Town Green. The event will be from 7-10 p.m. Bring a blanket or chairs and no outside drinks or coolers are allowed. Armbands will be provided with the purchase of a drink for those over 21.  Fee parking at the Third and Fourth avenue decks.
