OUTLOOK

While overall thunderstorm chances remain pretty isolated today, chances increase for scattered thunderstorms Wednesday through Saturday. Some strong storms are possible and isolated severe cannot be ruled out.

Monday’s high was 96 with the heat index reaching between 96 and 100 for eight hours, starting around noon. Normal high for early July: 89 and a low of 70. The records are mostly in the triple digits for this time of year (July 2 is 104 degrees set in 1925).

Tuesday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Sunny, with a high near 94. Heat index values as high as 100. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the morning.

Tuesday Night: A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7pm. Mostly clear, with a low around 72. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Wednesday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 95. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.
