It was a busy Saturday morning along Turner McCall as work picked up on the former car wash site that will become the new home of Little Caesar’s pizza in East Rome. Hometown photos.

Almost a year to the day after the Etowah Crossing location closed off Hicks Drive, work was well under way on the new home of Little Caesar’s off Turner McCall in East Rome.

Once finished later this year, the store will feature walk-in service as well as a full drive-through similar to its companion restaurant off Shorter Avenue in West Rome.

Little Caesars replaces the Magic Wand Car Wash at 1710 Turner McCall Blvd. Following demolition and some approved zoning variances, the franchisee was cleared to begin work on the new site.

The original East Rome site closed as Ledbetter Properties started to assemble the former Kmart site with plans to open East Bend, a power center with 20 to 28 retailers and restaurants due by October 2020. Great Clips, which was next to the former Little Caesar’s, moved about 100 yards away to the Etowah Crossing center anchored by Dollar Tree.
