Sunday: The River Arts District Playhouse presents ‘The Fantasticks,’ one of New York’s most popular musicals described as a grand comic adventure of first romance boasting famous songs: Try to Remember and Soon it’s Gonna Rain.The RAD Playhouse is owned and operated by Rome Shakespeare Festival and is currently performing at 246 N Fifth Ave., The Church at Rome. A look ahead to next weekend:

Ashland Craft will be performing at Saturday’s free concert at Town Green.

Thursday-Sunday: Rome Braves open a four-game series with Asheville Tourists at State Mutual Stadium. Celebrate Independence Day on Thursday at 7 p.m. with post-game fireworks. Friday is Super Hero Night at 7 p.m. Tenor Timothy Miller will perform the National Anthem & God Bless America and the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a free Rome Braves Super Hero Cape. Saturday is Military Appreciation Night at 7 p.m. with the first 1,000 fans through the gates receiving a free Rome Braves Camo Cap. Sunday is Family Fun Day at 2 p.m. with $50 Family Fun Day Package which includes 4 tickets, 4 hamburgers OR hot dogs, 4 sodas, 4 popcorns, 4 hats + free Kid Zone inflatable wristbands.

Friday: Live music at 5th of July bash at the Courtyard by Marriott Riverwalk. The free event will feature Kevin Allen Music, outdoor grill and cash bar on the patio and full stock  bar and Bistro menu inside.

Saturday: There will be a free concert starring Ashland Craft, a Top 10 finalist on “The Voice”, at the Town Green on July 6 as part of Downtown Rome’s Downtown Saturday series. The event will be from 7-10 p.m. Bring a blanket or chairs and no outside drinks or coolers are allowed. Armbands will be provided with the purchase of a drink for those over 21.
