“Is Bucket O’ Shrimp ever going to open on Dean Avenue?” It’s a question we get asked pretty frequently and unfortunately, still no definitive answer.

From the outside, it looks ready to go. Signage went up on the building several months ago, blue window lights are up, a new patio slab has been added, indoor renovations look complete and they have an active Facebook page. But what’s missing is any “opening soon” information.

We called the Gainesville flagship again on Friday afternoon to check on an opening.

“We don’t have a date set yet; it will be on our Facebook page, but we do still plan to open in Rome,” said the young lady answering the phone.

We also checked with City Clerk Joe Smith to see if owners have applied for a business license, but no application has been submitted thus far.

So, we’ll just have to wait and see. Keep an eye on the Facebook page for more.
