From Rome Assistant Chief of Police Debbie Burnett:
“In reference to this shooting, a suspect has been identified and warrants have been issued for armed robbery. The suspect is a 16-year-old African American male. Due to his age, his name is not released at this time. He will be charged as an adult so more information will be released in the near future. There is a second suspect in this case and it is considered still active. Once the second suspect has been positively identified, more information will be released. “
PREVIOUSLY
From Rome Police: On May 18 at about 12:41 a.m., Rome Police Officers responded to a call on Shoreline Drive of a 2013 blue Nissan Rogue in a ditch. On arrival officers discovered the vehicle unoccupied and located a female at a nearby residence . The female was bleeding and was the victim of a gunshot wound to the upper torso. The African American female is identified as 25-year-old Keana Tiara Harper of a Rome address. Ms Harper was transported to a local hospital where she underwent surgery. At the time of this release she was in critical but stable condition.
