Mr. Ronnie Faith Gresham, age 68, of Silver Creek, GA, passed away Monday, May 13, 2019, at his residence.
Mr. Gresham was born in Rome, GA on February 26, 1951, son of the late Eugene Douglas “E. D.” Gresham and the late Dorothy Penson Gresham. He was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Glenda Gatlin and Martha Paris, and by 2 brothers, Anthony and Gene Gresham. Mr. Gresham was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Shaw Manufacturing Company in Cartersville. Mr. Gresham was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, the former Sondra Elaine Cantrell, to whom he was married on December 24, 1970; 2 sons, Eric Gresham (Connie), Rome, and West Gresham, Silver Creek; a grandson, Jonathan Chance Gresham, Bozeman, MT; a sister, Faye Cooper, Rome; a brother, Donnie Gresham, Concord, MA; nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel. Brother Russell Bray will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Thursday from noon until the service hour.
Mrs. Lizzie Mae Bowling Bryan, age 84, of Lindale, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2019, at her residence.
Mrs. Bryan was born in Cleburne County, Alabama on August 2, 1934, daughter of the late T. J. York and the late Ollie Barnes York. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Leon W. Bowling and Edward Bryan, by a daughter, Candy Lynn Bowling, by two grandsons, and by numerous siblings. Mrs. Bryan worked for a number of years for Rome Manufacturing and in housekeeping at Floyd Medical Center. She later retired from the Deli at Piggly Wiggly. Mrs. Bryan was a member of Doyle Road Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Gail Huitt (Gregg), Rockmart; two sons, William Paul “Rocky” Bowling and Leslie Bowling, both of Lindale; stepchildren, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019, at 2pm at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Scotty Rampley and the Rev. Earl Vaughn will officiate.
Mrs. Bryan will be carried to the residence, 5134 Cedartown Highway, on Thursday morning and the family will receive friends there from 11am until 1:30pm.
