Scattered thunderstorms are expected today into tonight across north and central Georgia. A few storms could be strong to severe. The primary hazards with the strongest storms will be damaging winds, large hail, frequent lightning and heavy rainfall. With moderate to heavy rain persisting across the northern tier, there may be an emerging flash flood risk as well once the next batch of storms develop later today.

Gordon County Emergency Manager reported to NWS some thunderstorm wind damage to a gas station in Plainville that occurred around 4:24 a.m. Saturday. The metal canopy and portions of the roof were peeled off.
