Signs of the times: New informational signs are up at points across downtown Rome with “points of interest” on one side and annual events on the other. Included: A list of parking options, parks and trails, churches, accommodations and landmarks. For more: Facebook

Mark Cathy, grandson of Chick-fil-A dounder Truett Cathy, to address Cartersville-Bartow Chamber’s Quarterly Luncheon May 14: Mark Cathy’s talk comes as the fast-growing fast food operation announces plans to build its first distribution center in the Cartersville area, bringing up to 300 jobs with it. Set for the Clarence Brown Conference Center, the luncheon is from 11:15 a.m. until 1 p.m. Individual tickets are available for $25 or businesses may sponsor a table of ten for $250 to receive recognition at the event.
