Talk about fast work. Barely a month ago, the remnants of the former home of Auto Link Motors Detail Shop at 800 Martha Berry Blvd. were scattered about the site, awaiting removal (Auto Link moved to 517 W. 12th St.).

On Friday, much of the framing for Chicken Salad Chick on the same site was on the way up with a load of cinder blocks on site to assist with continuing construction. Permits valued at $740,000 have been issued for the restaurant expected to open late summer.

It will feature a 40-foot by 40-foot courtyard with almost 2,900 square feet of restaurant space, a drive-through lane and a slightly different name as founder Stacy Brown is saluting her ties to Rome with this store. It will be known as Stacy’s Chicken Salad Chick.
