Inmate found dead Thursday morning at the county jail identified as 56-year-old Rome man; GBI investigating.

From the GBI: GBI was contacted approximately 4:40 a.m. Thursday in reference to an inmate found unresponsive in his cell. The decedent has been identified as Tony Curtis Langston, age 56, of Rome. He was in jail for arson, burglary and aggravated stalking. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, April 12.

Floyd County Sheriff’s Office media release: An inmate at the Floyd County Jail was found deceased early this morning. The name and details are being withheld until the next of kin can be notified. As is protocol, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been contacted by Sheriff Tim Burkhalter and will be conducting an investigation into the matter. More details will be released as they become available.
