Record-tying Wednesday: The official high in Rome reached 85 degrees, tying the record set on April 10, 1943. Our normal high: 72. Cartersville’s high of 82 was seven degrees shy of its record.

OUTLOOK

Rain moves in Saturday and gets very heavy after daybreak on Sunday. Overall, more than an inch of rain expected — and stormy conditions as well. Gusts to 24 mph.
