If you’re coming into downtown Rome from the Bypass via Riverside Parkway or plan to make a left turn toward Broad Street at the intersection, take note — and be a quick study. Come Thursday, Georgia DOT is “improving the traffic flow at the intersection of Riverside Parkway and Turner McCall Boulevard,” according to a release from the City of Rome.
What’s happening: “Starting Thursday, March 28, the two left lanes on Riverside Parkway will become left turn only lanes. The third lane will continue to go straight. The outside lane turns north on Turner McCall.
“Additionally, GDOT will change the traffic signals to reflect these lane changes and will add a flashing yellow yield light in the signal cycle on Turner McCall Blvd for traffic making a left turn.”
Again, starting Thursday. We go the release at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday.
