Mr. William Earl Odom, age 98, of Rome, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at a local hospital.
Mr. Odom was born in Woodbury, Georgia, on September 5, 1920, son of the late William Allen Odom and the late Margaret Thompson Odom. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Sue Harris Odom, on August 30, 2010, by a brother, Alton Odom, and by a sister, Margaret Brown. Mr. Odom was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving during World War II. Prior to retirement, he worked as a Design Draftsman at General Electric in Rome. He was a member of the Shorter Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, David Odom (Barbara), Cartersville; two daughters, Bonnie Odom, Juneau, AK, and Cindy Holbourn, Acworth; three grandchildren, Brandy Mongeau (Matt), Bradley Murphy and Aimee Odom; a great grandson, Felix Mongeau; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2019, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with the American Legion Post #5 Honor Guard presenting military honors.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, on Sunday from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m.
Ms. Pamela Teresa Campbell, age 64, of Rome, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at her residence.
Ms. Campbell was born in Rome, GA on February 18, 1955, daughter of the late Robert E. “Bill” Campbell Sr. and the late Norma Anne Ramsey Campbell. She was a 1973 graduate of East Rome High School. For many years, Ms. Campbell was employed at various convenience stores in the Rome and Floyd County areas. She was also a home health caregiver. Ms. Campbell was a member of East Rome Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Tonya Lynn Baker (Patrick Sissom), Silver Creek, and Tera Lawanna Campbell (Brian), Spokane Valley, WA; 5 grandchildren, Brenden Cash, Tailor Barrett, Gage Moses, Ava Grace Moses, and GiGi Baker; 2 sisters, Kathy Blansit (Wayne), Summerville, and Lawanna Trotter, Rome; 2 brothers, Edwin Campbell (Teresa), Lindale, and Bo Campbell, Rome; nieces and nephews.
In accordance with her wishes, Ms. Campbell will be cremated. Private services will be held at a later date. Consult with the family concerning memorial donations.

Mr. Claude “Junior” Chapman, age 81, of Rome died Wednesday morning, March 13, 2019, in a local hospital.
A native of Floyd County, Mr. Chapman was born July 21, 1937, son of the late James Claude and Mary Magdalene Colston Chapman. He was a carpenter and after retirement loved to attend the Georgia Mountain Music Club, he enjoyed gospel music, especially the Gaithers, and watched westerns and Wheel of Fortune. He also enjoyed fishing and traveling, especially to Myrtle Beach. Last, but certainly not least, he loved his wife with all his heart. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Edward Chapman.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Jane Reece Chapman; daughters Tammy Matney, Lynn (Jeff) McCain, and Buffy Chapman; son Curtis (Andi) Chapman; special daughter: Christy (Jerry) Hall; grandchildren Kristen (Shane) Sapp, Brittany and Kelsey McCain, Suzanne and L.B. Blanchard, Heather (Brandon) Cook, Josh Williams, Zachary Miller, and J.R. Chapman. Ten great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, March 15, in the chapel of Good Shepherd Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with the Shanklin-Attaway Post 5 American Legion Honor Guard rendering military honors. The family received friends Thursday.
