The former home of Auto Link Motors Detail Shop at 800 Martha Berry Blvd. is so much rubble as the site will be cleared for Chicken Salad Chick as part of a $740,000 reinvestment.  Auto Link moved to 517 W. 12th St. across from Crowe’s Upholstery.

As for the new restaurant:

  • The restaurant is planned on just about three quarters of an acre, with Bojangles on one side (separated by West Eighth Street) and Cook Out burgers on the other.
  • A 40-foot by 40-foot courtyard is planned with almost 2,900 square feet of restaurant space.
  • It features a drive-through lane.
  • It will be a bit different than other parts of the booming franchise as found Stacy Brown is saluting her ties to Rome with this store. It will be known as Stacy’s Chicken Salad Chick.
Foundation work continues for another new Popeye’s coming to Northwest Georgia, this one on Joe Frank Harris Parkway in Cartersville. Hometown photos from Saturday.

The third Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen scheduled for Northwest Georgia is under way across from Aldi off Joe Frank Harris Parkway in Cartersville. The restaurant is planned for the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and North Morningside Drive, and is being developed by CSC Properties in Clearwater, Fla. Popeye’s is all but completed in Rockmart on the site of the former Sonic Restaurant off U.S. 278 and another venue is under way in West Rome near Winslette Pharmacy.
