Rain and some strong thunderstorms moving through our area tonight. Latest weather advisory for Bartow counties until 9:15 p.m.

...SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SOUTHEASTERN BARTOW AND NORTHEASTERN PAULDING
COUNTIES UNTIL 915 PM EST...

AT 837 PM EST...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WAS NEAR EMERSON, MOVING EAST 
AT 50 MPH.

  HAZARD...WINDS UP TO 40 MPH, PEA SIZED HAIL, FREQUENT LIGHTNING 
           AND HEAVY RAIN.

  IMPACT...EXPECT MINOR DAMAGE TO TREE LIMBS AND BLOWING AROUND OF 
           LIGHT, UNSECURED OBJECTS. HEAVY RAIN MAY CAUSE TEMPORARY 
           STREET FLOODING ESPECIALLY IN POOR DRAINAGE AREAS.

SOME LOCATIONS IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM INCLUDE
MARIETTA, CANTON, CARTERSVILLE, SANDY SPRINGS, ROSWELL, ALPHARETTA,
KENNESAW, WOODSTOCK, ACWORTH, HOLLY SPRINGS, EMERSON, MOUNT BETHEL,
HICKORY FLAT, KELLOGG CREEK, RED TOP MOUNTAIN STATE PARK, CROSS
ROADS, SANDY PLAINS, HOBGOOD PARK, UNION HILL AND WHITE WATER PARK.

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms before 1am, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 1am and 4am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4am. Patchy fog after 9pm. Low around 48. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Saturday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Patchy dense fog before 1pm. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 67. Light east wind becoming south 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Patchy fog after 4am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. South wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
