Bartow Schools: Threat made toward Adairsville High was false; ‘suspect now faces disciplinary action and charges could be pending.’

Charges are under review after authorities investigated a false report of violence planned at Adairsville High School, part of the Bartow County School System. The following update was received Wednesday afternoon from Alisha Evans, communications director, Bartow County Schools:

“Upon thorough investigation, Bartow County School Police, along with other local, state, and federal authorities, have concluded that a false report of a school threat led to heightened security measures at Adairsville High School on Wednesday, March 6, 2019.

“A suspect now faces disciplinary action and charges could be pending. Let this serve as a reminder that the Bartow County School System Police Department takes all threats seriously, investigates, and prosecutes to the fullest extent of the law.”

Bartow Headlines also has confirmed the GBI is assisting with the case.
