The company most recently announced a 2.3 million-square-foot logistics center for the Port of Savannah valued at $125 million and overall has “completed more than 100 million square feet of industrial projects for eCommerce, distribution, manufacturing and government services customers,” according to the firm’s website.
There’s a “available” sign in the door to River’s Edge Social Club, the close-to-the-Etowah River bar Richard Marcus worked to launch at 320 Glenn Milner Blvd. in Rome. It has something of a legacy to the former River’s Edge bar Marcus ran on First Avenue in downtown Rome for a few years. Featuring outdoor games and libations inside, River’s Edge Social opened last August with a concept somewhat similar to what the Sams offer at River Dog Outpost off Broad Street. Marcus says his dream of opening in a different scenario remains but would require different business circumstances.
River’s Edge was “kin” to Rome’s embracing of beer, beer gardens and craft brews in recent years. In addition to River Dog, the Foundry Growler Bar has opened on Fifth Avenue and West Third Street while Jay Shell and Dr. Trent Prault have built Rome City Brewing Co. with an expanded downstairs brewery and upstairs tap room at 333 Broad St.
