Join Rome City Arborist Terry Paige and Floyd County Extension Agent Keith Mickler for a pruning demonstration on Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. at Chieftains Museum.

Courtney W. Davidson, who recently moved to Rome from Lexington, presents Kentucky in August, “Untamed: Our Words in Our Voices,” an evening of empowering women in theater. Tapping into what she calls “the deep pool of talent found in this town,” Davidson says she’s created “an evening filled with strong women actors, playwrights, directors and more. There will be 10-minute plays, scenes, monologues that will make you laugh, cry, think about difficult topics such as mental illness and divorce. The goal of the project is to leave everyone empowered, regardless of gender, age, race, sexuality or any other factor.” The performances are set for Feb. 22 and 23 at 8 p.m. at The Warehouse at West Rome Baptist Church. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the door ($10 donation suggested). The program is rated “PG 13” by Davidson.
