Rumored for almost two years, West Rome will soon see a RaceTrac at the corner of Shorter Avenue and Coker Drive across the road from Jack’s restaurant.
Megan Shannon, a representative from the Atlanta-based retailer, says the upsized convenience store “will be similar to the Armuchee location, which is our new 5,500-square-foot model. This store will feature a Swirl World frozen dessert station with up to 10 flavors and 41 toppings, and a large coffee area with enough counter space to create the perfect cup of coffee.
“New stores also have a more shoppable layout, ample seating, free WiFi and more lighting in the store and parking lot to deliver a better guest experience. Outside all of our new and updated stores, you’ll find a clean, well-lit parking lot, and thoughtful elements like exterior seating options. Each new RaceTrac locations brings 20-25 new jobs to the community.
“This store will also have 16 fueling positions. It is likely to open in early 2020,” says Shannon.
The Armuchee location, at Martha Berry and the Armuchee Connector, opened last June. RaceTrac also has a new store on the way on Main Street in Cartersville just before the I-75 exit. It will be the second store in Cartersville. RaceTrac also is on Ga. 53 in Calhoun.
The West Rome location is the latest in several additions to the area. In addition to Jack’s, Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen is making a return to the area, rising on the site of the former bank branch near the current location of Winslette’s Pharmacy.
