Second consecutive record high in Cartersville: It was 74 on Wednesday, three degrees above the 71 that was set in 1963. Normal for Cartersville: 56 degrees. Tuesday’s high also was a record and we’ll likely do it again today (current record is 73; we’ll see 79 today).

Close but …: Rome’s high on Wednesday was 74 degrees, two below the record of 76, set on Feb. 6, 2008. The record for today,  Feb. 7, is 77 and we should at least match if not break it. We had record highs on Tuesday in Rome and Cartersville. Normal for this time of year is 55 degrees.
