The Rome store will look a bit like this on, at least the front parts, as shown in Jonesboro, Ark., courtesy of Haag Brown.

Bids are due at 4 p.m. Jan. 23 for the first Chicken Salad Chick franchise in Northwest Georgia — which should mean an open and operating restaurant by midyear.

Set for 800 Martha Berry Blvd. in Rome, estimates are sought on the new building that will cover less than 3,000 square feet, according to the LDI construction site. The developer is KSB LLC out of Auburn, Ala., and campus will cover around three quarters of an acre. It will have a rectangular look with a smaller second story for office and meeting area. Downstairs will be dining, the kitchens, customer service and restrooms.

Look for the shop to replace Auto Link Motors Detail Shop, which has moved to 517 W. 12th St. across from Crowe’s Upholstery.

Here’s what we do know:

  • The restaurant is planned on just about three quarters of an acre, with Bojangles on one side (separated by West Eighth Street) and Cook Out burgers on the other.
  • A 40-foot by 40-foot courtyard is planned with almost 2,900 square feet of restaurant space.
  • It features a drive-through lane.
