Chargers: Despite Carl Johnson‘s 35 points the Chargers fall on the road to the Jets of South Georgia Tech. The Jets opened the game on a strong run leading by as many as 14 points in the first half, but the Chargers made a run of their own to lead at the half 48-45. Playing with only six players, due to injuries, the depth was a contributing factor down the stretch as the Jets took control and closed out the win. Carl Johnson had an outstanding performance offensively, scoring 35 points, Khalyl Waters had 16 points and 9 rebounds, Derrick Cook and Latief Harris had 14 points each. The Chargers return to action on Saturday at home versus South Georgia State, tip off 4 p.m.

The Lady Chargers traveled to Americus for a GCAA Conference showdown versus the Lady Jets of South Georgia Tech and came away with a 75-59 loss. The Lady Chargers held the game within reach at the half cutting the Lady Jets lead to 9, 48-39 , but that was as close as the Lady Chargers would come in the contest. The Lady Chargers were led by Nijeria Jordan with 21 points, Ja’Lyn Reese had 11 points, and Ciara Thompson had 10 points. The Lady Chargers (9-9, 6-1 in conference play, return to action at home on Saturday versus Central Georgia Tech.
