Rome Police: Suspect sought in midday Sunday on Dodd Boulevard. One man shot several times; warrants out for suspect.

Media release: On Sunday, Jan. 6, at about 12:45 p.m., Rome Police responded to a reported shooting at 131 Dodd Blvd. On arrival, officers found Dakota Alan Malone shot twice in the back. Malone was transported to a local hospital for the injuries. He is being treated at the time of this release.

The investigation led to warrants being issued for Derricus Jamar Wade, charging him with aggravated assault in reference to the shooting of Dakota Allen Malone.

From WRGA News: Rome Police responded to a shooting on Dodd Boulevard in East Rome Sunday afternoon. One man was shot several times, Assistant Rome Police Chief Debbie Burnett tells the radio station. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Police were interviewing one possible suspect and were looking for another. The shooting occurred between 12:30 and 1 p.m. Sunday.

Hometown Headlines was in the neighborhood between 3:30 and 4 p.m., and there was no sign of any issues.
