Ahead of the Headlines: Chamber pre-legislative breakfast on Wednesday, bull riding, Bring One for the Chipper on Saturday.

 

Jan. 3: Rome Floyd Chamber’s Pre-legislative Breakfast. The session begins at 8 a.m. at the Palladium with breakfast prepared by Sweet P’s. The chamber will present its legislative priorities to area lawmakers (the General Assembly convenes Jan. 14). Jan. 4-5: Three Rivers Invitational Bull Riding at The Forum River Center on Friday and Saturday. The 14th annual event returns to Rome presented by 4-L Rodeo. Doors open at 6 p.m. and show begins at 8 p.m. both nights. Tickets are now on sale for $18 general admission or $23 for VIP section (ticket price includes all taxes and handling fees). Jan. 5: The 2019 edition of Bring One for the Chipper is from 10 a.m. until noon at the Home Depot off Hicks Drive and Turner McCall Boulevard in Rome. Donors will receive a seedling as well as arbor advice. Trees will be recycled into mulch, fuel or fish habitats. In Polk County, bring your trees to Camp Antioch at 3900 Antioch Road in Cedartown from 8 a.m.-noon. Seeds and tree seedlings will be given to all who bring a Christmas tree.
