One of downtown Rome’s premiere dining spots is adopting a new name and a few other changes for the new year. Seasons is becoming Bistro 208, in part to “ensure continued growth in a very competitive market.” Here’s the media release:

Media release: Robert Blumberg and Christopher Blackmon announce that the company will officially be changing its name to Bistro 208 as of Jan. 1.

The team outlined how the new name would reflect the evolving focus and standards of the company in an effort to ensure continued growth in a very competitive market. The team completed an in-depth review in an effort to assess the critical success factors that impact independent restaurants in today’s business environment.

We determined the critical success factors for our business are: quality of product, creativity, hospitality, service, comfortable atmosphere, a menu that demonstrates the ability to meet trend changes and name brand recognition.

Additionally, the team felt strongly that the name of the restaurant is one of the most important components of company branding and recognition. Instant recognition for new customers searching various web resources revealed a lack of a defining name recognition.

With this as background, we are pleased to announce the creation of Bistro 208.  Our new name allows us to be creative and at the same time provide definitive clarity as to who and what we are: a casual dining experience in the mold of the classic European and American Bistros and Southern Kitchen. An experience that has the ability to shift with consumer demand without being labeled in a specific category providing the flexibility to change when demand expects creativity.

We will continue to revamp our menu on a regular basis, focusing on classic European and American Bistros and Southern Kitchen offerings, creative cocktails and unique wine offerings that allow customers to continually have new dining experiences in an affordable yet comfortable and contemporary atmosphere.

Rome has provided us with tremendous support and we want to be a part of this great community for years to come.  We hope to continue to provide our community with an experience that delivers to every taste and price level representing a unique lunch, brunch and dinner experience. We will have the same Management Team, Chef and Staff.

It is our objective to transition this name change with no discernible impact whatsoever on our customers.  We hope to enhance our dining experience with ideas and offerings that will keep our concept fresh, creative and top of mind.

Some additional notes from the Bistro 208 team:

  • We intend to continue to operate in the same manner as before with the same team and ownership.
  • Some cosmetic changes are planned yet everything will continue to grow and move forward.
  • All commitments from Seasons will be honored by Bistro 208 to all suppliers and customers.
  • Gift certificates will, of course, be honored.
