Business: Glass Doctor on the move to mall area within four to six months. Truett’s Chick-fil-A displays new interior and installs ‘Little Red Door’; opening set for Dec. 13.

The Glass Doctor is on the move — to Armuchee — but not right away. Tim Born is moving up Martha Berry (now near Cook Out)  to the new location across from the intersection with the Armuchee Connector but the process could take four to six months. For now, Born and associates are surveying what needs to move and also will do some remodeling at the new location. Hardy Realty handled the sale. For more on The Glass Doctor, please click here.

Truett’s Chick-fil-A opening now 12 days away: Here’s the latest interior shot from Truett’s Chick-fil-A which opens Thursday, Dec. 13, on the site of the former Dwarf House off Shorter Avenue. Notice the suspended train track in the picture as well as the railroad trestle to the right (middle). And the ‘Little Red Door’ has been installed thanks to a visit from Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy (see below) and Rome Operator Greg Major. The restaurant opens at 6 a.m. that day with counter service, sit-down dining and drive-through. One of the first events already is on the calendar: Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 22, from 10 a.m. until noon. No reservations are needed.
