The proposal to shift economic development from the chamber to government control is the focus of this week’s Community Watch from Georgia Highlands; Hometown Headlines guests.

Plans to move economic development responsibilities from the Rome Floyd Chamber to an authority appointed by the Rome City and Floyd County commissions is the topic of this week’s Community Watch from Georgia Highlands College. Dr. Jon Hershey, dean of Humanities at GHC, and Greg Shropshire, Rome City Schools, anchor the public affairs program, now celebrating more than 13 years.

Hershey had read recent coverage on the debate in Hometown Headlines and invited us to join them to review the proposed “Big Switch” and what’s next. The program was taped just before Monday evening’s caucus session by the Rome City Commission. This week’s Community Watch is around 30 minutes long and can be seen by clicking Community Watch.
