A side view of the new Redmond Regional urgent care clinic opening next month at Shorter and Division. Photo two: a view from Cleveland Avenue behind the clinic. We’re surprised by the size of the parking lot. Hometown photos from Friday.

Gifts of Grace at 224 Broad St. in downtown Rome has a grand opening today, next to Level Up arcade. It is one of several openings set for now through the end of the (one might stretch into January). Gifts of Grace is open from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m., and promises free gifts for the first 50 customers. The others we are tracking include:

  1. Redmond Regional Medical Center’s first urgent care center in West Rome due in December. It is one of two centers in Rome and one in Cartersville in cooperation with SmartCare Medical Group out of Atlanta (the Bartow center is in conjunction with Cartersville Medical Center, which, like Redmond, is part of HCA). The second Floyd location is off Turner McCall in East Rome on the lot where Twice the Ice used to be. Construction has not begun there as yet; the clinic is due in 2019. About West Rome: Plans show the campus will have a combined cost of $789,000. The overall size is just under 5,000 square feet. Drawings indicate six exam rooms, two procedure rooms, x-ray and lab rooms, a doctors/nurses station and an 847-square-foot lobby area as well as restrooms, breakroom and other building requirements (electrical, storage and biohazard).

2. Truett’s Chick-fil-A, Shorter Avenue, Rome. The new restaurant replacing the Dwarf House opens Dec. 13. The interior and exterior designs are something new for our area. Included: Inside, a lot of Chick-fil-A history on display. You’ll find full-service dining, self-serve dining and drive-through options. The dining room capacity will be 150 customers, the same dual drive-through lines, more patio seating and double the kitchen space. Inside, you will find subway tile and large windows, tables from reclaimed wood and a custom light fixture made from recycled Coca-Cola bottles. As for that drive-through: There will be no window; look for delivery to your door. All your CFA favorites will be back, including an expanded offering of appetizers, veggies and the Hot Brown. Hiring continues: To apply, please see dwarfhouse.wyckwyre.com.

3. Peachtree Immediate Care, in association with Emory, open in early December.  All the signage is up at the former Los Reyes location  at 122 N. Morningside Drive in Cartersville. Hours: 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. seven days a week.

4. Plus coming soon (now into December):

Charbuck’s Almost Famous Grill, Shannon (former Opi’s) and downtown Summerville.

Ana’s Rotolos Deli, North Broad Street.

Thatcher’s Barbecue and Grill, Summerville
