Truck fire shuts two of three southbound lanes on I-75 between Adairsville and Cass-White Road. Take U.S. 41.

Soutbound traffic on I-75 below Ga. 140 in Adairsville to Cassville-White Road is stacked up at 8 p.m. Thursday because of a fire involving a truck. Two of three southbound lanes are closed. The scene might not be cleaned up until 11:30 tonight. Best bet: Take U.S. 41 from Adairsville to Cartersville until further notice.

On the road: The Thanksgiving holiday travel period began at 6 p.m. Wednesday and ends at 11:59 a.m. on Sunday.
