Two weeks ago, a historic voter turnout statewide ended with Republican Brian Kemp was a tight lead over Democrat Stacey Abrams. It took another 10 days to certify Kemp as Georgia’s next governor. Kemp joined us on the Hometown Headlines Radio Edition on WRGA 98.7 FM Tuesday morning to talk about the campaign, the transition between Gov. Nathan Deal and Kemp’s team, and what we can expect one year after Kemp is in office.
We started the interview with perhaps the toughest question: Whatever happened to “Jake” from the infamous “shotgun” commercial that powered Kemp through a tough runoff with Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle in pursuit of the GOP nomination. The interview went uphill from there.
