The new Charbucks Almost Famous Grill restaurants coming to Shannon and Summerville will be opening after Thanksgiving. The folks behind Armuchee’s hit restaurant, Almost Famous Cafe, are teaming with Charbucks Mobile to open the new eateries. The Shannon site is the former Opi’s, or more recently, On The Bayou.

“We are still another week away in Shannon. There are still a few more things to fix and get ready for a soft opening after Thanksgiving,” says co-owner Phillip Quarles. “Summerville will still be a few more weeks out, but we hope to open later this year.”

The Charbucks Almost Famous Grill will serve a combination of burgers and homestyle cooking. “We are marrying the two menus. Think of it as Applebee’s meets Cracker Barrel. It will be a mix of burgers, wings and bar-type food with meat and threes (veggies), all in a family-friendly environment.”

No changes are coming to the Almost Famous Cafe in Armuchee. Plus, Charbucks and SpeakCheesy are now doing the cooking at Rome City Brewing Co. Thursdays through Saturdays. They will also be adding a new lunch service the week of Nov. 26 at the RCBC. The lunch schedule is still being finalized, but is expected to be served starting at 11 a.m.
