Education: Woodland High Marching Band participating in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Honors for Berry communications students and Viking Fusion.

From Bartow County Schools: The Woodland High School Marching Band will be participating in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Sunday marks the Wildcat’s last rehearsal before they leave for the BIG APPLE! 257 Students, staff, and chaperones are making the once-in-a-lifetime trip! You can catch the big performance on Thanksgiving Day on NBC between 11:25-11:45! They are the only band representing Bartow County and the State of Georgia!


College Broadcasters Inc. and the College Media Association recently recognized Berry College’s student-run multimedia website, Viking Fusion, and Berry students in national competitions.

  • 1st Place, Best Live Production – “Berry College v. Emory University in Volleyball”
  • 1st Place, Best Vodcast – “Sanctuary,” produced by Eric Jackson, Sydney Adams, Wyatt Duemler and Anna Marie Falkenberry
  • 2nd Place, Best Vodcast – “Not Enough,” produced by Sara Arms and Savannah Staples
  • 2nd Place, Best Comedy – “That’s Sketchy: Episode 3 – Jail Time,” produced by Sara Arms
  • 3rd Place, Best Comedy – “That’s Sketchy: Episode 2 – Intervention,” produced by Eric Jackson
  • 4th Place, Best General Entertainment – “Wreckage,” produced by Sara Arms
