Obituaries: Elizabeth Anne Brewster, Mrs. Bobbie Ann Walker Green, Mr. Jerome Harris, Mrs. Wanda Sue Culpepper Ingram, Ms. Gwendolyn Mayes and Karen Hope Parr

Karen Hope Parr, age 32, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018.

Hope was born in Rome, Georgia on September 29, 1986, daughter of Kimberly Wheeler and the late Deryl Wayne Parr.  She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Otis Parr, Jr., Johnny Parr, Gail Wheeler and Ann Davenport, and by an uncle, Billy Wheeler.  Hope was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include three children, Alex Allard, Austin Allard and Myleigh Ann Lynn Parr; her mother, Kimberly Wheeler, Rome; three brothers, Deryl “D.J.” Parr, Jr. (Lyndsey), Hunter Parr and Logan Beam; grandmother, Ann Parr; aunt, Katie Reed (Tyson); uncles, Terry Wheeler (Gina), Kenneth Wheeler and Kenneth Parr.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at 3pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Micca Gillespie and the Rev. Jackson Davis officiating.  Interment will follow in Morning View Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Monday from 5 until 7pm.

Elizabeth Anne Brewster was born on June 27, 1923 in Cartersville, GA and passed away on November 9, 2018. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 11 a.m. at Myrtle Hill Cemetary. Daniel’s Funeral Home.


Mrs. Bobbie Ann Walker Green, age 61, of Lindale, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018 at her residence.

Mrs. Green was born in Birmingham, AL on January 26, 1957, daughter of Shirley Ann Woods Walker and the late Bobbie Gardner Walker.  She was a homemaker and was of the Seventh Day Adventist faith.  In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Nix, and by a sister, Elizabeth Mae Doss.

Survivors include her husband, Vernon Eugene Green, Jr.; a daughter, Sara Stewart (Steven), Oro Valley, AZ; her grandchildren, Summer & Dustin  Nix; her mother, Shirley Walker, Birmingham, AL; her step-children, Kristy Coogler (Brock), Cave Spring, Melody Byrd (Chad), Rome, and Brad Green (Jaimie), Hartwell, GA; her step-grandchildren, Kinsley and Ansley Coogler, Tyler, Jackson and Landon Green.

In keeping with Mrs. Green’s wishing she will be cremated and the family will have a memorial service at a later date.

Mrs. Wanda Sue Culpepper Ingram, age 79, of Rome, passed away Friday, November 9, 2018, at her residence.

Mrs. Ingram was born in Floyd County, GA on February 11, 1939, daughter of the late Archie Culpepper and the late Ona Cook Culpepper.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Allen Ingram in 2012, by a sister, Barbara Moore, and by a brother, Marvin Culpepper.  Prior to her retirement in 2001, she was employed as a Veteran’s Representative with the Georgia Department of Labor, following over 28 years of employment with the State of Georgia.  Upon her retirement, she was a volunteer at Floyd Medical Center for several years and she, with her husband, traveled across the United States and Canada.  Mrs. Ingram was a member of Grace Fellowship in Shannon.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Robin Holt (Thom), Cave Spring, and Melissa Pfitzer, Oak Island, NC; a son, Keith Ingram, Rome; 4 grandchildren, Jordan Holt (Kallie), Helena, AL, Ivy Holt Morris (Lance), Rome, Morgan Pfitzer, Savannah, and Ryland Hawksby, North Carolina; a sister, Montine Bohanon, Rome; nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 12, 2018, at 1pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.  Family and friends will share.
