Mr. Harold Eugene Proctor Sr., age 84, of Rome, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018, in a local healthcare facility.
Mr. Proctor was born in Cleburne County, AL on March 4, 1934, son of the late Robert E. Lee Proctor and the late Mae Morris Proctor. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Boatner and Betty Childers, and by two brothers, Charles and Edward Proctor Sr. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Otasco on Broad Street for many years until closing. He also was employed as a school crossing guard with the Rome City School System for the past 10 years.
Mr. Proctor was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church. He was also a member Euharlee Lodge #457 F. & A. M. for over 50 years.
Survivors include his wife, the former Ann Morris, to whom he was married on December 22, 1952; a son, H. E. “Gene” Proctor Jr. (Treva), Rome; three grandchildren, Tabitha Helms (Clint), Rome, Stephanie Jenkins (Josh), Rome, and Dan Proctor (Kacie), Euharlee; two great-grandchildren, Parker Jenkins and McKenzie Proctor; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at 2 p.m. at the graveside in Rome Memorial Park. The Rev. Harold Ingram will officiate with the Euharlee Lodge #457 F. & A. M. having charge of graveside Masonic rites.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Wednesday from noon until 1:30 p.m.
Pallbearers are requested to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Wednesday at 1 p.m. and include: Dan Proctor, Clint Helms, Josh Jenkins, Edward Proctor Jr., Tony Jones and David Trott.
Mr. Wilburn Redden, age 73, of Silver Creek, passed away on Monday, October 29, 2018, at his residence.
Mr. Redden was born in Floyd County, Georgia on June 7, 1945, son of the late Clarence W. Redden and the late Vera Azzilee Womack Redden. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Sue Womack Redden, and by two brothers, Ricky Redden and Guy Redden. Mr. Redden worked for a number of years as a machine operator with Caruastar and for the last several years he worked with his brother Tex Redden at T&M Motors. He was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Tracy Zachry, Silver Creek; a son, Terry Redden, Silver Creek; two grandchildren, Devin Redden and Kelsey Zachry; four great grandchildren, Owen Redden, Eastin Redden, Cason Zachry and Camdyn Arnold; two sisters, Dell DeHaas and Carolyn Alexander; two brothers, Noah Redden and Tex Redden; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Mr. Robbie DeHaas officiating. Interment will follow in the Live Oak Baptist Church Cemetery in Aragon.
Mr. Redden will be carried to the residence on Monday afternoon and the family will receive friends there until 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. He will lie instate at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Thursday from noon until the service time.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. and include: Brandon Cook, Jordan Cook, Derek Cook, Dewayne Bravo, Jake Womack and Greg Womack.
Ms. Mary “Kay Kay” Farmer, 71, of Rome, Georgia passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
Services for Ms. Farmer will be Monday, November 5, 2018, at 1 p.m. at New Life St John Baptist Church, 419 Walter St., Rome, Georgia, with the Rev. Gordon Lee Wells presiding. She will lie in-state from noon until the hour of service. Interment will follow at the Free Liberty Cemetery.

Mr. Peter Franklin Sims, 30, from Davenport, Florida, native of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018, in a Dalton hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Services for Mr. Sims will be Saturday, November 3, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Kingdom Church International, 5415 Calhoun Rd NE, Adairsville, Ga. 30103. Interment will follow at the Dogwood Valley Cemetery, Whitfield County, Ga.
Family will be receiving friends Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of services.

Mrs. Betty Ruth Bourne, age 83 of Rome died Sunday following a brief illness.
Mrs. Borne was born March 10, 1935 in Acworth, Ga., daughter of the late Charlie Cantrell and Inez Moss Cantrell. Mrs. Bourne was a member of Plainville United Methodist Church and until her retirement had worked for Southern Bell for over 30 years. Mrs. Bourne enjoyed staying active with family and friends, especially the Georgia Mountain Music Club.
Mrs. Bourne was preceded in death by her husband Bruce Bourne April 19, 2012 and by two sons-in-law, Jim Cowan and Charles Rickman.
Survivors include: four daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela Brewster Cowan, Monticello, GA; Sheila Rickman, Lindale, GA; Debra Gilbert (Rick) Rome, GA and Rhonda Fowler (Tony) Suwanee, GA; two sons and daughters-in-law, Henry Thomas Brewster, Jr. (Jo Hill) Ringgold, GA and Raymond Bourne Jr. (Gabbriella) Baltimore, MD; seven grandchildren, Meg Wilmesherr, Seth Brewster, Brandy Banister, Jeremy Rickman, Rich Gilbert, Lindsay Whitelaw and Jessica Fowler; ten great grandchildren, Piper Eckart, Liesl Wilmesherr, Mason Sears, Brinnon and Preston Banister, Hannah Rickman, Ricky Gilbert III, Cate Gilbert, David and Rachael Whitelaw, a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Salmon Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Wells officiating, entombment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will gather at Salmon Funeral Home Tuesday where they will receive friends from noon until time for the service.
Pallbearers are ask to meet at Salmon Funeral Home Tuesday 11:30 a.m. and include: Rick Gilbert, Rich Gilbert, Ricky Gilbert, Ryan Whitelaw, Tommy Eads, Darryl Gilbert, W.C. Dunaway and Jimmie Hartline. Mr. David Whitelaw will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

Mr. Lamar Franklin Woods, age 62, of Rome, Ga., transitioned October 27, 2018. Service for Mr. Lamar Franklin Woods will be Saturday, November 3, 2018, at House of Prayer Holiness Church (located at 1505 Crane St. Rome, Ga.) at noon. Mr. David Wayne Stansell, age 74, of Rome passed away Friday October 26, 2018 at his residence.
Mr. Stansell was born November 6, 1943 in Floyd County, a son of the late David Wesley Stansell, and Mira Treglown Stansell. He was retired from Sara Lee Bakery, and a member of Coosa Valley Praise and Worship Center. Mr. Stansell was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Scott Stansell.
Survivors include his wife Jeannette Dixon Stansell, children, DeWayne Wesley Stansell, Shannon (Ernest) Martin, Shalene (Arnoldo) Vicente, brothers, Mike Stansell, Steve Stansell, sisters, Penny Self, Brenda Lambercht, 10 grandchildren, 5 great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at Coosa Valley Praise and Worship Center, 9 General Ave. Rome, GA. 30165, with Rev. Steve Kelley officiating. The family will receive from 1 p.m. until the hour of service, at Coosa Valley Praise and Worship Center.
