Campaign watch: Over 31,400 early voters so far across region; advance voting today in Floyd only, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Democrats, with some state nominees, to rally Sunday in Town Green.


Advance voting continues at the elections office in downtown Rome weekdays from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. through Nov. 2. Hometown photo.


  • A total of 10,956 votes cast in-person and mailed-in absentee in Floyd County through Saturday.
  • Over 31,400 votes cast (both in-person and mailed-in) in Floyd, Bartow, Polk and Gordon combined through Saturday.
  • Sunday voting in Floyd: 9 a.m.-4 p.m., elections office.
  • In Floyd, another 457 people voted in advance on Saturday, boosting the in-person total in Floyd County since Oct. 15 to 9,583 voters. Advance voting continues daily– including this Sunday — through Nov. 2.
  • Statewide, more than 944,412 early votes (in person, mail, etc.) had been cast through Thursday. Click for updates.

Poll watchers sought for Nov. 6 voting

Political parties are allowed to appoint poll watchers at precincts to observe our elections. There are 25 precincts in Rome, Cave Spring and Floyd County. If interested in serving for the Democratic Party, contact Wendy Davis at

Democrats’ early voting rally is Sunday afternoon; U.S. Sen. Doug James, D-Ala., among guests: Area residents will gather at the parking lot at 332 W. Third St. As a group, they will walk across the John Ross foot bridge to the Town Green. We will hear remarks from our specials guests including U.S. Sen. Doug Jones, D-Ala.; Sarah Riggs Amico, the Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor; John Barrow, Democratic nominee for Secretary of State); and state party chair DuBose Porter. The group will then walk up Third Avenue to the Sunday voting location at the Floyd County Administration Building, 12 E. Fourth Ave.

Floyd County

  • Garden Lakes Baptist Church, Fellowship Hall, 2200 Redmond Circle, Rome. 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Oct. 29-Nov. 2.
  • Elections office, 12 E. Fourth Ave.  Sunday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.; and Oct. 29-Nov. 2 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Bartow County

  • Early voting now through Nov. 2 (Monday-Friday) at the Bartow County Voter Registration and Elections office, 1300 Joe Frank Harris Parkway. Hours will be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (an extra hour than previous weeks).
  • There will be three additional satellite voting locations open the final week, Oct. 29-Nov. 2 including the Cartersville Civic Center, Manning Mill Park and Allatoona Resource Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Any registered voter in Bartow County can visit any of these locations with their photo ID.

Gordon County

  • Early and Advance Voting now through Nov. 2,  8:30 a.m. until  5 p.m.  To vote early, you may visit the Voter Registration Office at 215 N. Wall St. in Calhoun on Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.  If you have any questions, please call the office at 706-629-7781.

Polk County

  • Vote at the elections office in Cedartown at 144 West Ave., Suite D, or Rockmart Community Center, 604 Goodyear Ave.
  • Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 9 a.m.-5 p.m., both locations.
  • Tuesday and Thursday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m., both locations.


Floyd County:

9,583 “in person” votes through Saturday.  (that’s at the elections office and Garden Lakes Baptist Church).

10,956: The total number of ballots recorded for Floyd County so far (through Saturday), including the mail-ins.

Bartow County:

7,218 in-person votes through Saturday, including 578 on Saturday.

9,013: Total ballots for Bartow through Saturday.

Gordon County: 

5,538 in-person votes through Saturday, including 411 of those on Saturday.

6,137 total votes for Gordon through Friday.

Polk County:

4,842 in-person votes through Friday.

5,317 total votes for Polk through Friday.

  • Nov. 2: Advance voting ends at 5 p.m.

Below please find a sample ballot for the Nov. 6 general election (including advance voting and absentee voting prior to that). Please note this is a ballot for someone living in the eastern part of Floyd County. Your own ballot could include other races (such as state House). Best bet: Go to the Secretary of State’s MVP page (see above) and enter your information (name, county, date of birth) to show your ballot as well as where to vote on Nov. 6.
