Mrs. Willene Hendricks Youngblood, age 88, of Rome, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at her residence.
Mrs. Youngblood was born in Floyd County, GA on August 16, 1930, daughter of the late Flim P. Hendricks and the late Rachel Mathis Hendricks. She was also preceded in death by her husband, R. P. Youngblood on October 3, 1997; by a sister, Ella Reece, and by eight brothers, Julian, Donald, Forrest, John, Doyal, Howard, Farris and Leon Hendricks. She was employed for several years with Airlight Inc. in Rome. Prior to her retirement, she was employed with Western Sizzlin in Rome. Mrs. Youngblood was a member of Desoto Park Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Diane Youngblood Plemmons (Ronnie), Rome, and Kay Youngblood Hughes, Rome; a son, Robert A. “Bobby” Youngblood (Ellen), Rome; 4 grandchildren, Deidra Lambert (Scott), Rome, Michelle Martin (Corey), Rome, Rob Youngblood (Ellen), Decatur, and Catie Mason (Doug), Rome; 8 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mozelle Sloman, College Park, and Gladys Puryear, Marietta; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, with the Rev. Scott Lambert officiating. Private interment will follow later in Rome Midway Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m.
