Mr. John Steven Brewer, age 65, of Atlanta, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at his residence.
Steve was born in Rome, Georgia on September 24, 1953, son of the late J. C. Alexander Brewer and the late Mildred Dearing Brewer. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Norman Alexander Brewer and Albert Randall Brewer. Steve was a graduate of the University of Georgia receiving his BLA. He worked for a number of years as a Landscape Architect and was a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects. Steve was well known for his work in landscape architecture and his work was featured in several magazines and television programs. He was also active in the Atlanta Showhouse for several years. Steve was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Margaret Brewer Lambert (Von), Rome; a brother, Harlan Dearing Brewer (Martha), Rome; a sister-in-law, Ruth Brewer, Rome; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018, at 1pm at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Friday from 11am until 12:30pm.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Friday at 12 noon and include: Active: Mark Brewer, Nick Brewer, Bradley Brewer, Ricky Brewer, Mike Mathis, Brad Clark, Josh Clark and Will Mathis. Honorary: Steve’s closest friends.

Bobby Joe Crane, age 67, of Gaylesville, passed away Friday October 12, 2018 at his residence.
Bobby Joe was born September 30, 1951, in Cherokee County, Alabama a son of the late Arthur Hubert Crane, and Dorothy Jo Bedwell Crane. He was retired from Mohawk Industries. Bobby Joe was preceded in death by a sister Cathy Crane.
Survivors include, his wife, Rita Crider Crane, daughter, Kristie (Jamie) Crane Ward, Gaylesville; grandchildren, Hailey Ward, Gage Ward, great grandchildren, Ashton Kate Ward, Karissa Kate Ward, Haisley Ward, Ryker Ward, brother, Hubert (Linda) Carne, Cedar Bluff; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside and interment services will be held at 2:00 (Ala. Time) Tuesday at Unity Baptist Church Cemetery, 2414 Co. Rd. 82, Cedar Bluff, Al. 35959, with Rev. Robert Steel, officiating.
Pallbearers include, Ronald Johnson, Darryl Crider, Eric Crider, Kerry Crane, Preston Crane, Levi Johnson, and Will Johnson.
In lieu of flowers memorals may be made to Unity Baptist Church , or to the Unity Cemetery Fund.
