A ringside seat along one of Northwest Georgia’s most traveled intersections is on the market.

The former Georgia Power headquarters at 800 Broad St. at Turner McCall in the heart of downtown Rome is now on the market for $2.8 million. It is listed through a partnership of Hardy Realty and Jones Lang LsSalle with Jimmy Byars as the contact (706-291-4321). What’s included:

  • Two connected buildings.
  • 43,000 square feet under roof.
  • 119 parking spaces.
  • A 2,600-square-foot auditorium/training room.
  • Numerous offices and large conference rooms.
  • 1.58 acres over, also touching East First Street and East Eighth Avenue.

Georgia Power has consolidated local offices off Holmes Road and Cooper Street just off Turner McCall — although keep an eye on changes at the DLS Building where a new Georgia Power sign just went up. The Rome Floyd Chamber used part of the building for a temporary headquarters this year as its 1 Riverside Parkway location was revitalized.

In addition to the high traffic volume and visibility at the main entrance to downtown Rome, the campus also offers a not-so-hidden wild card: 119 parking spots in an area where parking is at a premium many hours of the day.
