Buzz: Doug’s Deli Downtown expanding hours during weekdays. Entries for Coosa Valley Fair competitions for homemaking, fine arts, photography and flower show are due today between 1-4 p.m.

Doug’s Deli Downtown at 606 Broad St. is expanding their business hours and will now be open Monday-Friday until 5:30 p.m. to serve the early dinner crowd. The restaurant will continue to close at 3 p.m. on Saturday and be closed on Sundays.

The Coosa Valley Fair returns for its 70th season this week, Oct. 2-6. Today is the deadline for entries for a number of competitions including Homemaking, Arts & Crafts, Fine Arts (Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Craft and Mixed Media), Photography and Fall Flower Show. Entries must be dropped off at the Fairgrounds between 1-4 p.m. Sunday. In addition, those setting up Community/Educations/Health Agency displays must also do so between 1-4 p.m. All entries should be removed on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018 between 1-4 p.m. All entries not picked up on Oct. 7 by 4 p.m. will be viewed as abandoned and discarded. Information and Rules
